Shoppers want Gift Cards
NRF studies have shown Gift Cards continue to be the most requested gift item since 2008. Gift cards top consumer wish lists with more than 50% of adults surveyed indicating they would like to receive a gift card as a gift. Gift cards continue to increase in popularity as the number and variety of specialty and discount retailers jumping on the gift card band wagon continues to grow. In the past 12 months nine out of 10 American adults either purchased or received a gift card.

Promote your Brand
Gift Cards are another way to brand your products and services. Use of true-metallic colors and creative packaging can serve as an advertisement to anyone who sees the cards. Many retailers even use Gift cards as a reward as part of a Loyalty & Rewards program.

The average gift card recipient spends more than 60% over the original value of the card. This means on a $100 Gift Card purchased and used, you, the merchant, would get an additional $60 spend from that shopper. And on average, more than 30% of those big spenders are new customers.
